Frequently Asked Questions

Luna Bay is a small, peaceful beachfront resort tucked away in a quiet bay, away from the busier parts of Koh Phangan.

Life here is relaxed and unhurried. Occasionally, a sunset drink turns into a spontaneous evening of music or a DJ session. Nothing planned, just going with the flow.

Sure! Little ones are welcome within the maximum room occupancy. Just keep in mind that we don't offer special kids' facilities or extra beds.

And the best part? Our beach slopes gently into the sea, with shallow water stretching far out into the bay. Perfect for little feet and big beach days!

Depending on the season and tides, you can enjoy a lovely swim in the calm, shallow sea or take long barefoot walks across the beautiful sandbanks at low tide.

When the water retreats, the bay opens up into a wide, sunlit landscape thatโ€™s just as magical as the sea itself. Two completely different sides of the same beautiful beach.

The famous Full Moon Party takes place at Haad Rin Beach, around 4 km from Luna Bay and about 10 minutes away by taxi or scooter.

Close enough to enjoy the party, but far enough away to return to our peaceful little bay.

Check-in is from 2:00 pm to 10:00 pm. Planning to arrive later? Just get in touch with us in advance so we can see what we can arrange.

Arriving before 2:00 pm? No problem! Youโ€™re welcome to leave your luggage with us and relax on our restaurant terrace, grab a coffee or something to eat until your room is ready.

Check-out is at 11:00 am.

Of course! Friends and visitors are always welcome to join us by the beach. All we ask is that they order something to eat or drink. Fair enough, right?

If a friend would like to stay overnight in your room, please check with reception first. An additional fee applies to cover laundry, towels and utilities.

We love animals! While pets can't stay in our rooms or bungalows, dogs are welcome to join you at our restaurant and bar.

Just a little heads-up: Spike and Mausi, our two resort dogs, roam freely around the property.

Complimentary room cleaning is available upon request from the third day of your stay, including fresh bed linen and towels.

Need anything before then? Fresh towels, beach towels and toilet paper are available at reception.

Our kitchen is open daily from 9 AM to around 9 PM. Pad Thai or curry for breakfast? Breakfast for dinner? Up to you! Our full menu is available all day.

The restaurant and bar stay open later, usually until around 10 or 11 PM, sometimes longer when the evening is going strong!

Our water comes from our own well and is perfectly fine for showering, washing and brushing your teeth. For drinking, we recommend bottled water.

Youโ€™ll find two complimentary bottles of drinking water in your room when you arrive.

Getting to Luna Bay is easy! Taxis and shared taxis are waiting at Thong Sala Pier when the ferries arrive. The ride takes about 10 minutes, and shared taxis cost around 200 THB per person.

Just tell your driver youโ€™re heading to Luna Bay, formerly Last Hammock Beach Resort, in Ban Tai.

Of course! Just ask at reception and we'll arrange a taxi for you.

Want to explore the island on your own? We can also help you rent a scooter through our local rental partner, usually delivered within an hour. Just make sure youโ€™re comfortable riding a scooter, always wear a helmet and take it easy on the island roads.

Yes! Scooter parking is available just above the resort. Feel free to ride down for check-in and to drop off your luggage. Afterwards, we'd appreciate it if you could leave your scooter in the parking area to keep the resort peaceful and relaxed.

Living close to nature means sharing our little paradise with some tiny local residents. You might spot a gecko on the wall, hear tropical insects in the evening or at night, or occasionally come across another little visitor.

Our rooms have mosquito screens on the windows and mosquito nets over the beds.

Most of these little creatures are probably more afraid of you than you are of them. They generally keep to themselves, so please be kind and let them be. Theyโ€™re part of island life, too.
