Our Story
Two couples. Four friends. One slightly crazy dream.
Some dreams stay dreams. Others turn your whole life upside down. We're Julia & Alan and Patzy & Uwe. Four friends from Germany and Amsterdam who dreamed of more sunshine, freedom and a different way of life.
Our story began years ago on a beach in Egypt. Alan was DJing, two couples met, and a great friendship began. Who would have thought we'd one day run a beach resort together?
A DJ, a make-up artist, a cameraman and a hotelier. Different jobs, but one shared dream: our own little place by the sea.
Then Alan discovered a small beachfront resort on Koh Phangan. He and Uwe flew over, fell in love with the place, and suddenly we had a decision to make.

We did it.
We packed up our lives and brought our four cats – Rocker, Charlie, Masha and Red – from Germany and Holland to Thailand. Quite an adventure in itself!
Of course, starting a resort isn't all sunshine and cocktails. There have been surprises, challenges and moments when we wondered if we were completely crazy.
Our beloved Rocker made the journey with us and enjoyed the beginning of our new life here. Sadly, we losthim shortly before opening. We miss him dearly and wish he could have shared this special moment with us. He'll always be part of Luna Bay.
So here we are. Four friends, one beautiful bay and a dream coming true.
We're creating the kind of place we'd love to stay ourselves. Good music, great food, warm smiles and that easygoing feeling that makes you want to stay a little longer.
